The year in electric mobility: Rediscover 2025’s most popular articles
2025 was an eventful year for electric mobility – and not all of the headlines were positive. In the final months alone, the US scrapped its EV tax credit, while carmakers such as Ford y GM cut jobs and production of electric models for the American market. Across the pond, the UE y el REINO UNIDO are preparing to review automotive rules and ZEV credits, adding another layer of uncertainty.
Some of these developments certainly had us scratching our heads, and wondering whether we are all living in the same reality – especially policymakers. But some moments gave real cause for optimism. New EV subsidies in the UK, in the form of the Electric Car Granty en Alemania should help lift demand, while electric buses and trucks continue to gain ground across Europe. According to ACEA, electric trucks reached a 3.8 per cent market share in the EU in the first nine months of the year, up from 2.1 per cent a year earlier. Including the EFTA states and the UK, the share rises to 4.4 per cent. These are foundations worth building on.
