Ionity launches its own fleet charging service

Ionity is launching its first charging solution specially developed for electric company fleets called Ionity Fleet. The new product offers "competitive charging rates and flexible tariff models tailored to a range of fleet sizes and usage profiles."

However, the CPO does not specify the exact conditions in the press release: “Businesses interested in Ionity Fleet can sign up now on the Ionity website to receive a tailored offering,” it says.

However, the press release does provide further key data on Ionity Fleet. The service is said to offer access to over “over 4,800 ultra-fast charging points.” On the website, Ionity lists 4,874 charging points as part of its own charging network. These are spread across around 740 locations in 24 European countries. In addition to providing access to the entire Ionity network, the new offer is intended to simplify the tasks of fleet managers through centralised billing and administration.

The catch: this is also possible via other (fleet) charging services that have integrated Ionity via roaming agreements. And such charging services also offer access to many more (fast) charging points throughout Europe. Ionity would thus have to offer attractive prices to be included in the company car as an additional charging card – such an RFID charging card is described as a “key feature of Ionity Fleet.” It comes in the purple and pink Ionity design as standard. Companies with a fleet of more than 250 vehicles can personalise the card with their own branding and thus integrate it into their corporate identity.

With Ionity Fleet, the operator targets a large market. Company fleets account for more than half of the new vehicles sold in Europe each year.
“We’re seeing a strong rise in demand for electric fleet solutions as more companies embrace sustainable mobility. We are thrilled to support this transition with an efficient and scalable charging solution that perfectly meets the needs of this rapidly growing market,” says Simon Oetter, Head of CPO B2B at Ionity.

Interested parties can already register on the Ionity website. However, Ionity will not officially present the new product until the end of the month at the ‘Flotte!’ trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany.
