Genesis has just revealed pricing and details of its updated Electrified GV70, with the introduction of three new trims. It's now available to order and is expected to hit UK roads in July.

Formerly available in a Sport trim, the new GV70 can be purchased in the Pure, Dynamic and Luxury trims, each of which introduces a visual refresh and previously optional extras as standard. All trims will feature Highway Driving Assist, fingerprint recognition, power opening tailgate, heated front seats, wireless charging and Genesis’ Preview Electronic Control Specification as standard.

Prices start at £65,915 (approx. €78,800) OTR for the Pure trim. The Dynamic trim starts at £70,715 (approx. €84,500), which adds 20-inch wheels, remote parking assist, a heads-up display (HUD), blindspot monitor, and a parking collision avoidance system. Additionally, the Luxury trim starts at £74,915 and further includes a panoramic sunroof, active road noise cancelling, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. Further customisation options will also be available.

Genesis is yet to provide a full technical specification of the vehicle, but says it will in due course. However, based on the US version of the GV70, it is almost certain that the new GV70 has an upgraded 84kWh battery, replacing the 77.4kWh battery it currently shares with other Hyundai and Kia models. This should provide improvements to range and charge times – as it has with the updated GV60.

Customers can now order the new Electrified GV70 either online or at dealerships in London and Edinburgh.

Jonny Miller, Brand Director for Genesis Motor UK, said: “The facelift version of the Electrified GV70 kicks off our move to refresh our entire electric vehicle line up for 2025. Expanding the Electrified GV70 line-up to three trims means we can now encompass a wider remit of customer convenience and boutique trim possibilities.”

A Hyundai-owned premium brand, Genesis is currently in the process of electrifying elements of its product range. The new GV70 is therefore part of these efforts, which also includes the all-electric GV60 and the Electrified GV80. However, aside from these vehicles, Genesis has significantly scaled back its ambitions when it comes to producing full BEVs. In July last year, the company announced it would no longer be focused on launching all-electric models from 2025 as planned, and will instead focus on producing hybrids.
