DKV Mobility to expand UK charging network

The German fleet management firm DKV Mobility has just announced an expansion into the UK via a partnership with Fuuse, one of the UK's major EV charge point management platforms. The partnership will enable DKV Mobility customers to access thousands more charge points across the UK.

Fuuse enables charge point operators (CPOs) to open up their chargers to businesses and the public, with its network including local authorities, hotels, colleges, health facilities and retail outlets.

Under the partnership, Fuuse will provide access to charging stations operated by a range of CPOs, including evpoint, Scottish Power Recharge, Charge My Street, FOR EV and more. On top of this, users will also be able to take advantage of Fuuse’s ‘virtual CPO’ which comprises smaller providers.

All of these will be accessible via the DKV Mobility app or using the DKV Card + Charge system. This is the same solution that allows DKV customers to access the firm’s European network of 938,000 charge points, including 45,000 across the UK. In other words, it ensures consistency in access between mainland Europe and the UK.

Sven Mehringer, MD of Energy & Vehicle Services at DKV Mobility, said: “Adding Fuuse’s clients to our network significantly strengthens our presence in the UK and helps us support our customers on their journey towards more sustainable mobility. Together, we are enhancing accessibility to high-performance EV charging infrastructure – making it easier than ever for businesses and drivers to make the switch to electric.”

Additionally, Fuuse CEO Michael Gibson said the partnership is ‘ a big step forward for our CPOs’. He said: “Partnering with DKV Mobility, one of Europe’s leaders in fleet management, including EV charge cards and fuel cards, puts our client’s charge points in front of yet more drivers.”

The partnership with Fuuse follows a number of other collaborations by DKV in the UK and Ireland. Earlier this month, DKV announced it was partnering with Irish charging station operator EasyGo. And, in January, DKV signed a similar deal with Applegreen Electric.
