BP Pulse to install fast chargers at Waffle House locations
BP Pulse states that each site will have a total of six charging bays fitted with 400kW DC chargers and a mix of CCS and NACS connectors. They’ll be located in the car park of Waffle Houses in Southern states including Texas, Georgia, Florida, and elsewhere. 24/7 access is expected, as Waffle House is a 24/7 restaurant. BP Pulse says that the first sites will go live next year, in 2026, and will ensure that customers can charge their vehicles while dining.
Sujay Sharma, CEO of BP Pulse Americas said: “As an integrated energy company, bp is committed to providing efficient solutions like ultrafast charging to support our customers’ mobility needs. We’re building a robust network of ultrafast chargers across the country, and this is another example of third-party collaborations enabling access to charging co-located with convenient amenities for EV drivers.”
David Repp, Director of Innovation at Waffle House, added: “Waffle House is thrilled to collaborate with bp pulse to offer our customers a safe, well-lit and welcoming place to enjoy Good Food Fast any time of day. Charging up while fueling up on an All-Star Special will be convenient and fast – a perfect option for enjoying the Waffle House experience while charging your EV on the go.”
BP Pulse is one of the largest charging network operators in the US and has over 8000 locations there. It typically partners with other businesses to install chargers at retail locations, for example the car rental firm Hertz, or builds its ‘Gigahubs’ at strategic locations such as near Boston Airport. The brand has recently scaled back its ambitions of focusing on twelve countries down to four, with its key markets now the US, UK, China and Germany.
