MFG accelerates ultra-rapid charging network in London
Motor Fuel Group (MFG) is ramping up its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the capital, announcing a 30% increase in its ultra-rapid charger footprint within the M25 by the end of 2025. The move comes in response to what the operator describes as “rapidly growing customer demand” for high-speed, reliable EV charging in London.
Seven new EV Power Ultra-Rapid Hubs will be brought online across the city this year, with an additional three sites undergoing significant expansion. Each hub will feature chargers rated between 300 and 400 kW, capable of delivering substantial energy throughput for high-usage EV drivers.
“By expanding existing sites and bringing new hubs online, we are ensuring EV drivers have access to the ultra-rapid facilities they need, helping to make EV ownership more convenient and accessible,” said Martin Symes, Director of EV at MFG.
The rollout follows MFG’s acquisition of Morrisons’ 337 forecourts and associated land, a deal which includes over 350 acres of car parks. MFG told British media that this provides an “unrivalled platform for EV charging network growth”, particularly in urban zones where demand is outstripping infrastructure availability.
Five of the newly announced EV Power Hubs will be installed directly on Morrisons supermarket car parks in London. The remainder of MFG’s London hub expansion is being integrated into its own network of over 150 forecourts in the capital. MFG also confirmed that rapid chargers will be deployed at the majority of Morrisons’ London supermarkets by year-end.
All EV Power Hubs are co-located with MFG forecourts offering convenience retail and food-to-go options, a model the company believes enhances user experience and site efficiency.
