Leapmotor reports first half-year profit as deliveries surge past 220,000 units

Leapmotor has reported its first-ever semi-annual net profit, making it only the second Chinese new energy vehicle startup to reach this milestone. With over 220,000 vehicles delivered in the first half of 2025 and revenue up 174% year-on-year, the company is scaling rapidly both domestically and abroad.

The Stellantis-backed automaker reported a net profit of 30 million yuan for the first six months of 2025, compared with a loss of 2.21 billion yuan in the same period last year. “Achieving profitability for the first time is a significant milestone,” the company stated. Revenue rose to 24.25 billion yuan, up 174% from a year earlier, supported by record deliveries and additional income streams such as carbon credit trading and strategic cooperation.

Deliveries reached 221,700 vehicles between January and June, representing a 155.7 per cent increase compared to the previous year and securing the top position among Chinese new energy vehicle startups. Exports contributed 20,000 units. As of mid-June, cumulative deliveries surpassed 800,000 units.

Another milestone: The manufacturer says it led sales among emerging auto brands in China for five consecutive months, with July deliveries reaching 50,129 units – the first time a new EV brand in China has exceeded 50,000 units in a single month.

According to Leapmotor’s report, the C10 SUV exceeded 100,000 global deliveries within 13 months of launch. The C11 reached 250,000 cumulative sales, while the newly launched B10 SUV crossed 10,000 units in just two months, making it Leapmotor’s fastest-selling model. Its latest sedan, the B01, secured over 10,000 orders within 72 hours of launch in July.

Because of that, the Chinese carmaker also raised its sales target. “We aim to achieve one million annual vehicle sales in 2026, supported by scale advantages, international expansion, and an optimised product portfolio,” said CEO Zhu Jiangming.

International expansion is also accelerating. In the first half of 2025, Leapmotor exported 20,375 units. Its market share in Germany’s BEV market exceeded 1% in June, with more than 4,000 European orders in July. The B10 will officially launch in Europe at the IAA in Munich in September.

By June, Leapmotor International had established more than 600 sales and service centres in around 30 international markets, over 550 of them in Europe. A localisation project with Stellantis in Malaysia has already produced its first C10 unit, and a European production base is planned for 2026.
