Electrify America integrates real-time charger data into Google Maps

Electrify America now provides real-time charger availability on Google Maps, showing station status, connector type, charging speed and operational readiness. The update allows EV drivers across the US to plan routes and stops using up-to-date information from the network.

The integration builds on Google’s existing real-time charger feature, allowing users to view up-to-the-minute station status directly within the Google Maps interface for route planning and charging decisions. According to the VW subsidiary, the new feature will help “EV drivers make smarter, faster decisions about where to charge and how to plan their routes.”

“EV adoption is accelerating, and with it comes the expectation of a seamless charging experience, said Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America. “By integrating real-time charging station data, we’re not just improving access, we’re empowering drivers with the confidence to go electric, knowing the information is right at their fingertips.”

Electrify America says it operates the largest ‘Hyper-Fast’ charging network in the US, spanning 47 states and the District of Columbia. It currently operates more than 1,000 stations and 5,000 individual chargers nationwide. And the company just recently teamed up with the supermarket chain Royal Farms to offer high-powered charging at eight retail locations.
