Fastned opens 50th fast-charging station in Germany

Fastned has commissioned its 50th fast-charging station in Germany, located in Werl-Büderich in North Rhine-Westphalia. The site offers ultra-fast charging close to major motorways and is part of the federal Deutschlandnetz rollout.

The hub offers twelve charging points, each providing up to 400 kW of charging power. The chargers are installed under Fastned’s standard yellow canopy, designed to protect users from the weather. The location, close to the A44 and A445 motorways between Dortmund and Soest, also provides nearby amenities, including a bakery and a supermarket.

With the opening in Werl, Fastned now operates more than 300 charging points across Germany. Linda Boll, Country Director of Fastned Germany, described the opening as a strategic step in network development: “The opening of our 50th fast-charging station is not only a significant milestone for Fastned in Germany – it also reflects our ambition to bring fast charging to where it is really needed: along the most important transport corridors in the region.”

To mark the opening, Fastned is offering free fast charging at the Werl-Büderich station from 17 to 24 December 2025.

Fastned reported that December will be its strongest month to date in Germany, with seven new stations opening nationwide. “Werl symbolises our current growth – there could not have been a more fitting location for station number 50,” Boll added. The company plans to expand its German network to 75 stations next year and continues to pursue its broader goal of building around 1,000 fast-charging stations across Europe.
