Allego installs largest fast-charging hub in Belgium yet
Of the twelve charging stations, each with two connections, eight offer 300 kW and four offer 150 kW of power. Each of the stations is capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously, allowing for a total of 24 cars to charge at the same time.
Mechelen is the flagship location in Allego and Mitiska REIM’s plan to establish fast-charging hubs with a total of around 34 additional charging points at five strategic retail locations across the country by the end of 2026.
“Locating fast-charging hubs at high-traffic retail destinations is a strategic no-brainer,” said Alexei Blokhine, Head of Network Development at Allego Belgium, at the end of 2025. “Charging points have evolved from a nice-to-have into a core element of retail mobility strategies. Retail parks are eager to offer this service to visitors, and we plan to invest in more hubs like this in the coming months. This year alone, Allego installed 106 fast chargers, bringing our total to 460 operational fast-charging points across Belgium by Christmas.”

Allego has been gearing up its network across Europe lately, for example, announcing the installation of 50 fast-charging stations in Slovenia in December. The same year also saw significant restructuring within the company, including new executive board assignments and the appointment of a new CEO. In the UK, the company has been dealing with cable theft, but the company has been on a steady expansion course, even getting involved in a French CPO alliance in early 2024.
