Clarios, a supplier of low-voltage batteries and owner of the Varta brand in the automotive sector, is purchasing three plants in Germany and Austria from Texas-based battery recycler Ecobat. However, this does not involve recycling traction batteries from electric cars, but rather lead-acid starter batteries.
