Zero-emission trucks: 100-fold increase needed in EU fleet

Summary

The European vehicle manufacturers‘ association ACEA reports around 6.2 million medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles on EU roads. Only 2,300 of these vehicles – 0.04% of the total fleet – are electric trucks. To comply with the EU’s CO2 limits, ACEA estimates that Europe will need around 200,000 e-trucks by 2030.
