In a new study, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) warns against overly optimistic expectations regarding the reduction of battery costs for electric vehicles. MIT expects battery costs to fall by almost 50 per cent between 2018 and 2030 and then reach 124 US dollars per kWh. This is significantly more pessimistic than other forecasts.
