Deutsche Bahn brings autonomous vehicles into public transport
In the German state of Hesse, Germany’s national rail services Deutsche Bahn (DB) has announced a major project with automated shuttles using electric vehicles from the Chinese manufacturer Nio. More than 100 on-demand vehicles will be in operation by the end of the year.

WiTricity helps Yutong wirelessly charge driverless buses
WiTricity, the US provider of wireless charging systems, has announced cooperating with the Chinese manufacturer Yutong Bus to enable inductive charging of automated electric minibuses. They have already launched a first deployment in full commercial operation.

CES: Holon by Benteler reveals e-shuttle Holon Mover
Holon, Benteler’s brand of autonomous shuttles announced in November 2022, has come to Las Vegas to show its first vehicle at the CES. The electric Holon Mover, designed by Pininfarina, can carry up to 15 passengers and does not need a driver, at least not all the time.

Torqeedo to power autonomous ship in Kiel
The marine electric drive supplier Torqeedo has won an order to supply a complete electric propulsion system for an autonomous boat in the German city of Kiel. The electric vessel named Wavelab will be built by Gebrüder Friedrich Schiffswerft in Kiel, and is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2022.

Boschung reveals autonomous electric street sweepers
The Swiss company Boschung has announced the launch of a purely electrically driven and fully autonomous sweeper. The 2.3-tonne machine, called Urban-Sweeper S2.0, will be able to work eight hours at a stretch. Five units are already in operation in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
