Flash charging: Imagine a robotic arm reaching out from a bus’ roof for 15 seconds of ultra fast charging and then moving on with up to 133 passengers. That becomes reality with Geneva’s TOSA project. EPFL scientists developed a mathematical model to minimise infrastructure and costs of the TOSA e-bus system even further, to be able to integrate it into the Swiss city’s public transport system by 2017.
