Fraunhofer studies European truck charging

Fraunhofer ISI has analysed the GPS coordinates of around 400,000 trucks from seven manufacturers in operation across Europe. The result is meant to help governments and infrastructure operators set priorities for the installation of charging points for electric trucks.

Daimler Truck & Sysco sign MoU for 800 electric trucks

The US food delivery company Sysco has signed a letter of intent with Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) to purchase up to 800 Freightliner eCascadia electric trucks. The first eCascadia delivery is scheduled to arrive at Sysco’s Riverside, California location later this year.

Ree Automotive announces robotic assembly lines for Coventry plant

The Israeli company Ree Automotive plans to implement cloud-based robot assembly lines at its integration centre in Coventry, UK. Volvo Trucks opens battery factory in Belgium

Swedish truck manufacturer Volvo Trucks has opened its first battery assembly plant in Ghent, Belgium. There, cells and modules from Samsung SDI are assembled into customised battery packs for the FH, FM and FMX heavy-duty electric truck series.

Gotion High-Tech to supply batteries for Geely

The Chinese battery cell manufacturer and Volkswagen partner Gotion High-Tech has signed a supply agreement with Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle.
