Mexico’s Grupo Bimbo to launch 4,000 electric trucks

Grupo Bimbo, a bakery corporation from Mexico City, has integrated 100 electric trucks into its delivery fleet. But this is only the first step: a total of 4,000 more are to follow by the end of 2024 – 1,000 each year. They were developed by a subsidiary of the company.

Plug Power & Lightning working on Class-6-H2 truck

A new cooperation between two US companies wants to offer Class 6 (up to 12.5 tons) trucks powered by fuel cells. New York-based fuel cell specialist Plug Power and Colorado-based e-drive developer Lightning Systems have now joined forces.

Daimler T&B launches worldwide charging initiative

The E-Mobility Group from Daimler Trucks & Buses is launching a worldwide initiative to establish a charging infrastructure for battery-electric trucks. The focus of the “eTruck Charging Initiative” will initially be on charging stations installed at the depots of truck customers.

Tata Motors unveils electric truck

The Indian automobile manufacturer just presented India’s first own commercial electric truck, the Tata Ultra T.7. The 2+1 seated intermediate truck is not yet ready for market launch, as the vendor reaction is reportedly being studied first.

Nikola Tre to build electric trucks at Iveco in Germany

Iveco-owner CNH Industrial and Nikola Motor will build the Nikola Tre in battery-electric and fuel cell version at the Iveco plant in Ulm, Germany. The first e-trucks to go into production from 2021 are the battery-electric 4×2 and 6×2 vehicles. The fuel cell version is planned for 2023.

Hyundai opts for Faurecia systems for fuel cell trucks

Faurecia has just received a major order from Hyundai for hydrogen storage systems for fuel cell vehicles. The French company will supply the entire system including 10,000 tanks for the 1,600 H2 trucks that Hyundai plans to launch on the Swiss market.

Renault Trucks to supply e-trucks for Carlsberg

Renault Trucks has signed a contract with the Carlsberg Group for the supply of 20 purely electric 26-tonne Z.E. trucks. The electric trucks are to be delivered to the brewery in Feldschlösschen, Switzerland this year.
