Hyundai marks >200,000 interest expressions for Ioniq 5
Hyundai has reported a high level of interest in the 800-volt electric vehicle less than a week after the Ioniq 5 world premiere. Customers in Europe have submitted 236,000 expressions of interest for the special edition ‘Project 45’. Production is limited to 3,000 units, so it was sold out within a few hours.

Hyundai provides an official preview of the highly anticipated Ioniq 5 and unveiled the first design elements and technologies of the electric crossover,. After the digital debut in February, it will be possible to pre-reserve the 800-volt electric vehicle before it celebrates its market launch in Europe in summer 2021.

Hyundai is launching Ioniq as a fully electric subsidiary
Hyundai is making Ioniq its own sub-brand for future battery electric vehicles based on the new Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with 800-volt technology. The first model will be the Ioniq 5 based on the Hyundai 45 concept car next year, with two further Ioniq models already announced.
