Long Beach was also the place where Piquet’s father had won his first Formula 1 race. Lucas di Grassi came in third and leads the drivers’ standings.

2015 looks to be a great year for electric mobility and LEGO fans. The McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and LaFerrari will all be available for the little yellow guys (and gals). And all LEGO kits include a wrench, because, well who wouldn’t want to look under the hood?

McLaren P1 vs. Porsche 918 Spyder, Nissan Skills Foundation.

Video tip: This is not a drag race! Autocar has the McLaren P1 go up against the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Ducati 1199 Superleggera. Despite a warm invitation, LaFerrari did not join the party for unknown reasons.

Reading tip: Nissan will expand the activities of its ‘Nissan Skills Foundation’ in the UK. Children can learn how a Nissan Leaf if build or get a taste of how it is to manage a F1 race team.

Odd one out.

In need for speed? Well, you got plenty of it in this video where the three super sports cars La Ferrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder (all of them hybrid), competed at the Assen Circuit in the Netherlands. They were joined in the race by the Koenigsegg Agera R.

Video tip I: None less than Gus Van Sant has directed this trilogy of ad clips promoting the BMW i8. And he is not the only star who lends its name to the hybrid super-car as the cast includes Sting’s daughter Mickey Sumner and Sam Hazeldine.
