EU research project to tackle aluminium-sulphur battery chemistry

The EU-funded project Amapola which is focussing on a marketable polymer-based Al-S battery has announced it will be developing an aluminium-sulphur battery for vehicles and aircraft. The aim is to develop an Al-S cell that achieves very high energy density values (660 Wh/l or 400 Wh/kg) and uses the advantages of innovative polymer gel electrolytes.

Belgium announces new company car electrification bill

The Belgian government has given the green light to a bill by Finance Minister Vincent Van Peteghem to accelerate the electrification of company cars in the country. Ireland halves PHEV subsidies

Newport orders 16 more Yutong electric buses

The Welsh port city of Newport is increasing its electric bus fleet from 16 to 32 vehicles. The operator Newport Transport has ordered 16 more electric buses from the Chinese manufacturer Yutong, which are to be delivered by the end of this year.
