Lime unleashes 1,000 kick scooters in New York City

Lime has launched 1,000 electric scooters in New York City to kick off the Department of Transportation’s East Bronx scooter-sharing pilot. New York will become just the second city in the United States to launch Lime’s latest generation scooter, the Gen4.

Ford doubles F-150 Lightning production numbers

In the USA, Kansas City, Missouri has launched a pilot project to install public Level 2 EV charging stations on light poles. By the end of this year, the Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC)  plans to have 30 to 60 chargers in place throughout the city.

Autopilot safety investigation in the USA

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reopening an investigation into Tesla’s ‘Autopilot’ driver assistance system. It refers to eleven incidents between January 2018 and July 2021 in which Tesla models hit emergency vehicles parked on the side of the road. This resulted in 17 injuries and one death.

ChargePoint acquires ViriCiti & has.to.be

In Europe, the US charging provider ChargePoint has acquired electric bus and commercial vehicle management provider ViriCiti for around 75 million euros. This should allow ChargePoint to accelerate the electrification of fleets.
