IT and internet companies follow with 308 auto-related patents filed by Google, 222 by Microsoft and 83 by Apple. Many of those include navigation and entertainment systems.

GinzVelo: This Human Electric Hybrid (HEH) bicycle that looks a lot like a space capsule is said to change city traffic. It is technically a bike and the driver still needs to pedal, but is assisted by a 500 watt electric motor. GinzVelo can go as fast as 20 mph and has a range of up to 100 miles. A crowdfunding campaign is underway.
