Electrified modular rear axle system: Automotive supplier ZF presented a new modular rear axle system that can include an electric drive module and can thus be used for electric, as well as hybrid and fuel cell vehicles.
EV and technology concepts for the city: As part of the now concluded Sino-German project DaBrEM, the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, the Fraunhofer IFAM and other partners completed a series of fleet tests and drove four partially autonomous Mia EVs through the German city of Bremen and Chinese city of Dalian to gather data and test innovative mobility concepts of the future.

New research centre in Morocco: With its OpenLab, PSA wants to bring together American and African universities and expand its global research network. As part of the four year research project Sustainable Mobility in Africa, the centre will also work on electrification technologies.
Hybrid technology from Israel: Aquarius Engines has developed an especially energy efficient one-cylinder combustion engine that can be used as a generator for EV batteries. The company says that an unnamed European manufacturer will debut the technology in a small sized vehicle in two years.
