It has been suspected, but now the UCI had to admit the first official case of electric doping. A young Belgian was caught with an electric motor hidden in her road bike’s frame at the cyclo-cross world championships. Ironically, the rider crossed the finish line on foot due to mechanical rather than electrical problems.
