With 62,166 EVs and PHEVs sold in California last year, more than half of all electric cars sold in the U.S. (114,064) hit the road in the Golden State. Electrified vehicles hold a 3.1 percent market share in California, just a little less than in Norway, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong. Across Europe, sales of EVs and plug-in hybrids increased by 109 percent to 146,161 units.
