Charles-Freese“If we come too early with a fuel cell, the customer may not be happy.”

GM’s fuel cell chief Charlie Freese says that (one) of the reasons the carmaker is still shying away from introducing a FCV is that technological advancement is happening too quickly. By the time a fuel-cell propulsion system is ready, it is already pretty much outdated.

Pravin-Shah“We are ready with the product. We plan to launch the Mahindra e2o in many European markets in the next few months, starting with London very soon.”

CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Automotive Division, Pravin Shah, confirmed that the small EV will arrive on European shores soon, technically for a second time. A previous version of the then called Reva has been sold as the G-Wiz in the UK in 2004.

Eric-Ibara“Nobody really knows, but there are few signals to lead us to believe that gas prices will spike up over the next few years. Because of that, we think hybrids are going to continue to struggle and as a result our residual value for that segment is also soft.”

Eric Ibara, Director of Residual Values at Kelley Blue Book, warns that the residual value of 2016 model-year hybrid and electric vehicles sold in the first two months of 2016 already dropped 4.1 percent compared to last year. Moreover, it could continue to decrease due to low petrol prices.
