Saxonia, Shenzhen, Air Liquide, Disneyland.

Electric patrol: 44 electric cars have joined the police force in Saxonia and not all of them are of German built. The fleet consists of 15 Renault Zoe, 24 Mercedes B-series ED, and 5 Renault Kangoo ZE vans. They will serve in the federal states’ five largest cities like Dresden and Leipzig and shall get one charging station each. The first has gone up in Dresden already with another 43 to follow by September. The EVs make for an 1.6 percent electric share in the Saxonian police fleet.

Making a difference: Shenzhen introduces a three-tier system for license plates, now differentiating between electric, hybrid, and gasoline-powered cars. While the first two can essentially be registered immediately and in any number, plates for petrol vehicles are limited to 80,000 a year.

Hyundai and Air Liquide to collaborate: Together the two companies are committed to speed up the development of hydrogen infrastructure. In Korea, this will take the form of H2 fuelling stations, while in Europe their efforts are focused on FCEV projects like taxi or government fleets.

EV Disneyland: 100 new energy vehicles will serve in Shanghai’s International Tourism and Resort Zone that has the cartoon theme park at its heart. The EVs will cater for half of all public transport needs in the area and connect Disneyland to other hotspots in the Chinese metropolis.
