Nowadays there are BEV, FCEV, REV, PHEV, and HEV but yet another term emerged. PZEV stands for Partial Zero-Emissions Vehicle and had been introduced by CARB in 1998. But it includes fuel-efficient ICE, allowing Subaru to claim 70% PZEV sales although 2/3 of those were not even mildly hybrid.
