BMW has delivered more than 40,000 electric and hybrids so far this year; 7,000 in Q3 alone. Tesla meanwhile sold 9,156 units in the U.S. in the third quarter, an increase of 59 percent compared to last year and more than the Mercedes S-class and BMW 7-series combined.
