An new electric submarine is small enough to become the first underwater EV for private persons. Ortega’s MK series, open-top submersibles for up to three divers, has two electric motors that pull down to a depth of 96 metres at a speed of 12.7 mph. Range is 80 nautical miles and the Dutch firm describes them as “a luxurious yet accessible maritime commodity” without giving a price.
