Elon-Musk-Twitter“Increasing capacity at existing Supercharger locations now has top priority. Some are overflowing while a nearby one is empty.”

Elon Musk answered an inquiry by twitter follower, saying that the carmaker won’t just focus on opening new locations, but also in increase the number of stalls at popular Supercharger locations.

Takao-Asami_100x100px“Before we had the concern about the degradation of the battery — that’s why we had to limit the amount of energy we could pull out of the vehicle. But year by year this durability is being improved.”

Nissan Senior Vice President Takao Asami says V2G technology is becoming more relevant. Whereas carmakers were worried about pulling energy from the car battery, now there are so many EVs that only small amounts of energy need to be fed into to the grid to support peak power needs.

Thomas-Sedran“Quite frankly, if we compare ourselves today with Samsung and LG they are light years ahead of us.”

Thomas Sedran, VW’s head of group strategy, says that due to lack of in-house expertise, it is favourable to continue buying batteries from suppliers who have truly pushed the technology along.
