Reading tip I: Andrew Frankel had a glimpse of a brave new world, where cars will be “quasi-sentient beings” when he test drove the Volkswagen I.D. Concept. It is a far cry from a production version due in 2020 but is charming nonetheless, esp. as it is a car that “makes the first move.”

Reading tip II: A price jump is to hit Tesla in Hong Kong, because Financial Secretary Paul Chan last week cut tax waivers for electric cars in his first budget. That raised the price of a Tesla Model X75D by 77% to about HK$1.51m (193,000 USD).
