Europe’s biggest cargo bike sharing has been launched in Cologne as planned. Donk-EE includes 50 electric cargo bikes ready to rent at 35 locations and able to carry up to 100 kilos. With eco utility Naturstrom and its subsidiary Green Moves Rheinland behind the service, all e-bikes will be charged with renewable energy and can be booked via app. The first hour costs 3,50 with another 2,50 euros occurring for every hour after. Both the city as well as the operator hope those little e-transport mules will replace cars on short distances.
