Donk-EE, Champagne-Ardenne, Bucharest, Lugano.

Europe’s biggest cargo bike sharing has been launched in Cologne as planned. Donk-EE includes 50 electric cargo bikes ready to rent at 35 locations and able to carry up to 100 kilos. With eco utility Naturstrom and its subsidiary Green Moves Rheinland behind the service, all e-bikes will be charged with renewable energy and can be booked via app. The first hour costs 3,50 with another 2,50 euros occurring for every hour after. Both the city as well as the operator hope those little e-transport mules will replace cars on short distances.

French region to go electric: France’s Champagne-Ardenne region will receive 149 public EV chargers as Ardenne Métropole ordered Nexans to install and service such network. The stations in 61 municipalities are part of a plan to offer EV sharing through Clem, a start-up.

eBuses for Bucharest: 100 electric buses shall roam the Romanian capital if City Hall gets its will. Their draft includes charging stations as well but still awaits approval of the Bucharest General Council.

Fast food, fast charge: Lugano got its first 150 kW charging station and it stands in front of a McDonald’s. The EV stop from EVTEC also known as Espresso&Charge has been installed by GoFast. And no, it has not been renamed Milkshake&Charge yet as it is open to the public.
