This is Peter Rawlinson, the CTO at Lucid Motors, who also happens to be the former lead engineer on the Tesla Model S. But before the “myth” busts entirely, the marginal cost for a Model S may be half its list price but excludes initial expenses.

Schaeffler CEO Klaus Rosenfeld clearly faces a challenge and so far hopes for a scenario, where still in 2030, 70 percent of vehicles will have some form of combustion engine also hybrid and thus leave some business for the supplier.
