First Solaris buses for Brussels: The city’s public transport company STIB has ordered seven fully-electrified buses from Polish manufacturer Solaris. The Urbino 12 electric models are so-called “midi-buses” and thus smaller than most of the buses operated by the transport company. Delivery is scheduled for the end of the year. STIB intends to electrify its complete bus fleet until 2030.

EVTronic supplies 50 fast chargers to the UK: French charging infrastructure company EVTronic has been chosen by ChargePoint Services to contribute 50 fast charging stations to the British charging net GeniePoint. The stations incorporate an energy storage system and are to be installed across the country within the next 3 months.

Rhode Island cancels EV discount: Rhode Island has suspended its DRIVE programme that supported locals who bought an EV with up to 2,500 dollars. After its launch in early 2016, funding has run out. That is at least how Rhode Island’s Office of Energy Resources explains this step. However, those responsible say they are “hopeful the programme may be restarted”.

Oxford’s anti-pollution initiative: Oxford’s City Council has approved the installation of 19 taxi charging points across the city and wants all newly-licensed hackney carriages to be ultra-low emission vehicles by the end of 2018. However, main target is the establishment of a zero emission zone in Oxford by 2020.

Electrifying Cyprus: The island’s Electricity Authority (EAC) has purchased six electric cars to extend its fleet and installed another charging station in Limassol. The total number of charging stations thus climbed up to 18.
