“We will decide by the beginning of next year.”
Michael Budde, managing director at Bosch Battery Systems, confirms Bosch wants to decide by the beginning of 2018 whether to go into battery cell production or not but that also depends whether the supplier sees a technological breakthrough.
“There is quite an opportunity for us in commercial in the United States. And this car has the flexibility to serve as both a passenger car and a commercial van.”
Eckhard Scholz, CEO of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, is talking about the I.D. Buzz, now due by 2022. He also mentioned VW’s assembly plant in Chattanooga as possible place to produce the microbus.
