After having been present at this year’s IAA in Frankfurt, Chery CEO Anning Chen underlines the Chinese manufacturer’s ambition to enter the European market with a range of electrified models – most probably by 2019 or 2020.
“I think you also have to admit that Tesla has been a stimulus or injection into this car business. They’ve made very attractive electric cars … So I think they have been inspiring us.”
Hakan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars, does not hide his admiration for Tesla. In an interview with Nikkei, he summarises that the decision on electrification is mainly driven by customer preference – and thanks to Tesla, customers consider electric cars attractive.
