Jochen Schröder to head e-mobility at Schaeffler

Dr. Jochen Schröder will lead affairs of Schaeffler’s new e-mobility division starting on  April, 1, 2018. The executive comes from Valeo Siemens eAutomotive, where he oversaw the global R&D activities as CTO. 

As electrical and control engineer, Dr. Schröder has also held managing positions at BMW for 15 years and has been involved in the development of electric drives as well as vehicle energy management.
He started at Siemens’ Valeo in 2016.

Schaeffler had decided last year to form a dedicated business unit for e-mobility within their automotive division (we reported). Accordingly, Dr. Schröder will report to Matthias Zink, CEO Automotive OEM.

The new business division E-Mobility is based in Bühl, Baden-Wuerttemberg, where the Schaeffler Group has its new Automotive headquarters.
