GAC gets into position to rival Tesla
GAC of China presents their new electric sedan Aion S at the Guangzhou Motor Show and it comes with a clear intent to provide a Tesla like performance at a “reasonable price”.
GAC would not go into much detail on said performance though other than saying that their benchmark is the Tesla Model 3, particularly in aerodynamics. The range of the electric car is looking good as well with GAC claiming an “excess” of 500 km (310 miles).
The launch of the Aion S is set for next year, first China. GAC had said however, that they were eyeing to start sales in the U.S. by 2019.
