Domino’s plans to roll out hundreds of e-bikes for delivering their pizzas in partnership with Rad Power Bikes across company-owned stores throughout Miami, Salt Lake City, Baltimore and Houston later this year.

As a result of a successful pilot program, Rad Power Bikes is now Domino’s exclusive e-bike provider for franchise owners and corporate stores in the United States. Each custom e-bike includes insulated soft-sided cargo areas that can hold up to 12 large pizzas in Domino’s Heatwave bags, along with drinks, sides, and dipping cups.

“We built a tailored delivery solution for Domino’s that is setting an exciting example for how ebikes can be used to benefit business efficiency and employee satisfaction,” said Brian Rinckenberger, CommercialSales Director for Rad Power Bikes. “We’re proud that the partnership with Domino’s, which began with one franchise owner in Seattle several years ago, is now expanding nationwide.”

The mammoth pizza chain is using the electric bikes to cut through traffic and running costs with the e-bikes. Domino’s said that they successfully tested deliveries with electric bikes in Houston, Miami and New York.

“While delivery on a traditional bike solved many of our traffic and parking issues, the hills in Seattle were tough on even our best cyclists,” Greg Keller, a Domino’s franchisee in Seattle, said in a statement. “E-bikes were a game-changer for us, and we’ve been delivering with them for three years now.”
