Vandals destroy charge hub on Vancouver Island

Five charging outlets on Vancouver Island have been rendered unusable as unidentified persons severed the cables. All five of the local charging stations at Buckley Bay rest stop were destroyed, with repairs underway as parts permit.

An official on-site deemed the crime “rather senseless” as not even the copper contained in the cables would outweigh the damage. Some of the chargers were at least immediately repaired, as replacement cables were on hand, but some had to be ordered extra, which will delay the completion of the repairs for a few weeks.
