Turning a mountain bike into a snowmobile
A new DIY conversion kit turns mountain bikes into electric snowmobiles, switching out tyres for a kevlar/rubber track and a 1.2 kW hub motor. Silent and fully electric, the Envo runs on 17.5 Ah battery.
The manufacturer describes it as the first pedal-assist electric snow bicycle, and prices start at $2,789. The top speed is set at 20 kph and the range stands “15-50 km depending on road and snow condition.”
