UK charge point mapping app Zapmap has launched a new API product suite for third parties called Zapmap Spark. It will give the latter access to Zapmap’s data set, which they can then display in their apps. It will also enable companies “to provide both EV route planning and cross-network digital payments in their own app,” Zapmap writes in its media statement.

“This brand new offering from Zapmap means that third-party digital platforms and apps can now provide market-leading EV services through a simple integration,” says Richard Bourne, CEO at Zapmap. He adds that it “is all about making it easier for organisations to offer their customers a robust set of tools for electric vehicle drivers – all from within their own digital estate.”

According to Zapmap, it has data on more than 95 per cent of public charging locations, most of thm with live data feeds to see it it is occupied or not. Moreover, it offers “digital payments across over 30% of the leading CPO networks.”

Zapmap was founded in 2014. In 2020, it launched Zap-Pay, enabling users to pay for charging with different CPOs using a single app. The new API product suite includes a Search API, a Plan API and a Pay API.
