GAC has thus pushed the price down significantly: at the start of pre-sales at the beginning of January, the price list started at 89,800 yuan (around 11,500 euros). Now, however, the price range is between 69,800 yuan and 101,800 yuan (around 13,000 euros). GAC offers the Aion UT in five trim levels with CLTC ranges of 330 km and 420 km. The Aion UT is the third global model from GAC Aion and is marketed under the name of ‘Yingwulong’ in China.

GAC specifies the dimensions of the car as 4.27 metres x 1.85 metres x 1.575 metres, with a wheelbase of 2.75 metres. The cheaper equipment variants run on 16-inch rims, the more expensive equipment variant on 17-inch rims. The compact electric car presents itself with a contrasting floating roof, combined with daytime running lights consisting of 19 LED units, D-shaped headlights and C-shaped tail lights.

The Aion UT is powered by a 100 kW front electric motor, which is combined with a battery pack with a capacity of between 34.9 kWh and 44.3 kWh, depending on the equipment variant. Two ranges are offered: 330 km and 420 km, according to the CLTC method. The top speed is 150 kph. With fast charging, it takes 24 minutes to charge from 30 to 80 per cent. However, GAC does not mention the standard European measurement of 10 to 80 per cent.

The cockpit is fitted with a 14.6-inch central screen, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel and round air conditioning outlets. An AI voice assistant is also on board. The highest trim level also has level 2 driving assistance functions and ambient lighting. Other standard features include OTA updates, Wi-Fi in the vehicle, two to six loudspeakers and a remote control for the mobile phone. Customers can currently choose between six exterior colours for the Aion UT: Red, silver, white, beige, purple and green.

GAC further wants to sell the Aion UT not only in China but also internationally. The brand wants to celebrate its European debut with the Aion V, an electric SUV. The first two planned markets are Norway and Portugal, with the German launch planned for the end of 2025.
