Hoff will report directly to the global management board of Mercedes Benz AG, and has responsibility for the overall strategy of the company’s operations in the USA. He first joined Mercedes-Benz in 2013 and has held various leadership roles in both the US and Germany, including CEO for Mercedes-Benz International in Alabama. For the last five years, he has held the role of Global Head of Quality for Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans.

Speaking at his appointment, Hoff commented: “As an American, I’ve had multiple opportunities to be in key roles in North America and Germany.  […] I know what our amazing U.S. team is capable of and am excited to take our performance to the next level.”

In addition to appointing Hoff to the CEO role, the company also announced plans to bundle its R&D, sales and marketing activities in the US under one banner as it seeks to grow its second largest market even further. Mercedes-Benz claims its total car and van sales reached 324,500 vehicles last year.
