Mercedes prices the US American EQC

Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing information for the EQC in the United States. Arriving in U.S. dealerships in early 2020, the Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 4MATIC will start from $67,900. Sales will begin in early 2020.

Mercedes recalls almost 1,700 EQC globally

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 1,696 EQCs worldwide – 571 of them in their native Germany. This affects models from the production period from February to October 2019. A bolt in the front axle differential could break and block the front wheels of the electric car.

Mercedes to deliver 27 eCitaro to Aachen

Mercedes-Benz has received another major order for its eCitaro. The public transport operator Aachener Straßenbahn und Energieversorgungs-AG (ASEAG) ordered up to 27 electric city buses. The first seven eCitaro buses have already been handed over.

Bucharest ordered 130 hybrid buses

The Romanian capital Bucharest has ordered 130 hybrid buses from Mercedes-Benz. Deliveries of the Citaro Hybrid are scheduled to take place between May 2020 and January 2021. Bucharest also plans to procure 100 battery-electric buses, 100 trolleybuses and 100 trams.

ZF to supply drive components for Mercedes’ EQC

This is the third major order for ZF to announced within a few weeks: The supplier from Lake Constance is supplying Daimler with large parts of the drive system for the Mercedes EQC. Previously, BMW and Fiat Chrysler had ordered hybrid transmissions worth billions.

ViaVan plans to use only BEVs as of 2025

ViaVan, the joint venture of Mercedes-Benz Vans and the US startup Via, plans to convert all its locations to purely electric fleets by 2025. In Berlin, only fully electric vans are to be used from the end of 2020.

No more Smarts in North America

At the end of the current model year, Daimler is to ends sales of the Smart in the USA and Canada, where the small car has only been available with an electric drive since 2017. In addition, Smart-boss Katrin Adt will assume a new management position within the Group as of 1 July.

16 eCitaro electric buses for Hamburg

The Hamburg-Holstein Transport Authority (VHH) in Germany has ordered 16 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro models that should be delivered at the end of 2019. According to Daimler, this will be the first time the fully electric city buses will feature the new maximum configuration with twelve battery packs and a total capacity of 292 kWh.
