Renault has revised the Scenic E-Tech Electric, with innovations such as one-pedal driving, bidirectional charging V2L and Plug & Charge increasing comfort and suitability for everyday use, as well as new driver recognition and other functions.

Meanwhile, Renault also introduced new starting prices in the UK for both the Megane and Scenic E-Tech electric. The EVs start from only £32,495 OTR for the Megane E-Tech electric, while the Scenic E-Tech electric is now available from £37,195 OTR.

Renault had already announced that the Scenic would be equipped with One Pedal Driving as part of the corresponding update to the Mégane E-Tech Electric. Renault initially opted for a driving behaviour similar to that of a combustion engine, in which the maximum recuperation roughly corresponds to the engine braking of a combustion engine. In the meantime, Renault’s electric car division Ampere has developed such a function, in which the strength of the recuperation can be adjusted via the steering wheel paddles. This allows the vehicle to accelerate and decelerate almost exclusively with the accelerator pedal – hence the name One Pedal Driving. “besides smoother and less demanding driving in cities, it reduces brake-pad wear and optimises energy harvesting,” wrote Renault.

The One-Pedal function can also be retrofitted to existing vehicles, provided they are equipped with paddle shifters to control recuperation, as Renault specified. This is to be done via a free update at the Renault partner or over the air.

Another new feature is the new bidirectional 11-kW onboard charger, which replaces the unidirectional 22-kW onboard charger as standard equipment. From summer 2025, a 22-kW alternating current charger will be offered again, which will then also support bidirectional charging – but for an additional charge.

There are also new functions such as Plug & Charge (as part of the ‘Mobilize Charge Pass’) and, in the Esprit Alpine and Iconic trim levels, a new driver recognition function. A camera integrated into the A-pillar recognises the driver and automatically activates the stored user profile, such as the preferred radio station/playlist, seat and exterior mirror settings and the apps used. The Esprit Alpine and Iconic interiors have also been revised.
