Mercedes-Benz reveals UK pricing and specs for new CLA

The new CLA is now available to order in the UK with first deliveries expected in Q3 2025. It's initially launching as an electric model but a version with a hybrid drivetrain is on the way.

Based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, the fully electric CLA 250+ will debut with an 85 kWh battery, a 200kW rear axle motor, and a WLTP range of up to 484 miles (779km). It accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and also supports 320kW DC charging – adding 200 miles of range in around 10 minutes. There’s also some technology borrowed from the VISION EQXX concept here, including the two-speed electric drive unit and 800-volt architecture.

As standard, each CLA features an illuminated front panel and grille, a 101 litre ‘frunk’, and 405 litre boot, plus a large panoramic glass roof. Blind Spot Assist, Manouevring Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Brake Assist are also part of the package, as well as a 14-inch centre display and integrated video camera. An additional passenger display, the MBUX Superscreen, will also be available to order after the launch period ends.

Prices start at £45,615 for the Sports Edition trim, with the AMG Line and AMG Line Premium Editions starting from £49,375 and £51,770 respectively. The AMG Line Edition trim adds AMG bodystyling, flush door handles, a multifunction leather steering wheel, surround lighting and wireless device charging. Meanwhile, the AMG Line Premium Edition introduces 19-inch alloys, MULTIBEAM LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and the ‘Night Package’.

Mercedes says the new CLA is the first of a ‘completely new family of vehicles’ based on the MMA platform, with additional hybrid models are set to launch later this year – although there’s no word on pricing just yet. Mercedes did however give some indication as to the hybrid specs – namely a four-cylinder combustion engine and 48-volt technology, plus an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The company added that additional battery and motor configurations will also be made available in the future, providing further customisation. You can see all the options via the company’s car configurator page.
