PowerGo has announced a strategic partnership with the hotel company Essendi which will see it install EV charging points at multiple hotels in the Netherlands. This will include a combination of both AC and DC fast chargers.

The charging points are set to be installed at hotels across North and South Holland, including Ibis and Ibis Budget Amsterdam Airport at Schiphol, and the Novotel hotel at Rotterdam Brainpark. PowerGo has stated that chargers are already online at Mercure Amsterdam City.

Since May, guests have had access to six 22kW charging points, with two additional 150kW fast chargers on the way. Additionally, Novotel Amsterdam City gained two 150 kW charge points and six 22kW outlets this month. The two companies state they are also examining other locations in Essendi’s hotel network for potential expansion.

Like other PowerGo installations, the hotel charging points will provide dynamic pricing tariffs and be powered by green energy. Essendi states it has seen a rise in demand for EV charging over the last year, and hopes the partnership with PowerGo will benefit surrounding communities.

Martijn van der Graaf, Chief Operating Officer Western Europe at Essendi, stated: “This partnership fits perfectly within our ESG strategy, which aims to promote positive hospitality. By working with PowerGo, we’re providing our customers with concrete solutions for more environmentally friendly mobility—solutions that are easy to access and make a real difference. This collaboration reflects our ambition to make the hotel a key player in the ecological transition, creating value that goes beyond our walls and strengthens our role within the local ecosystem.”

PowerGo is currently in the midst of an expansion of its European network. The Danish CPO announced last week that it is building new fast charging sites across Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain at key locations along major highways.
