Suzuki announces UK prices for the e Vitara
In addition to the basic battery variant, there are also a number of 61 kWh capacity versions available. Furthermore, the e Vitara will be available in both Motion and Ultra grades as well as optionally offering Suzuki’s all-new four-wheel drive system ‘ALLGRIP-e’. The other variants are 2WD.
Prices for the larger battery variant range from £32,999 for the basic ‘Motion’ 2WD variant to £37,799 for the ‘Ultra’ 4WD variant. As part of the deal, Suzuki is offering to throw in a free Ohme home charger and 10,000 miles of home charging credit for customers ordering before the end of September.
Regarding the ALLGRIP-e system, Suzuku writes that the system functions via “two independent motors at the front and rear. This system not only provides powerful performance but also allows for precise control with excellent responsiveness.” It was apparently developed specifically for the e Vitara, although the ALLGRIP system has generally been around for 55 years, as Suzuki adds.
Production for the e Vitara is still passing its final hurdles, at least in India, where Suzuki’s subsidiary Maruti Suzuki recently announced that it will be lowering production targets for the electric SUV by two-thirds due to supply constraints. Considering that is where Suzuki announced that it would be starting production of the e Vitara in late 2024, it may take some time before production is fully ramped up.
In terms of technical specifications, the e Vitara’s smallest variant has a maximum output of 106 kW, the middle one 128 kW, and the top variant has a front motor with 128 kW and a rear motor with 48 kW. The maximum torque for the first two models is 189 Nm, while the top variant offers up to 300 Nm. The range stands at up to 428 km.
