Eleport consolidates growth in Croatia & Slovenia

Charge point operator Eleport is set to grow its charging network with a dual push into both the Balkans and Central Europe. This includes a strategic partnership with Ampeco as well as the installation of new 150-400kW fast chargers starting in Croatia and Slovenia.

The major announcement is Eleport’s partnership with Ampeco, which will see the two companies launch a unified charging app for its customers. This app will be comprised of search functions for chargers, flexible pricing options, charging session summaries, and other quality-of-life features for EV drivers.

Currently, the app is set to be introduced in summer 2025 in Croatia – Eleport’s newest market – and be rolled out to the rest of the region afterwards. Eleport states its goal is “a single app [enabling] travel from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea without friction”; in which an EV driver could travel from Estonia to Croatia using a single app. Currently, Eleport’s network includes locations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, and Croatia – with more markets on the way later this year.

Speaking about the new app, Eleport CEO Jakub Miller said: “It enables us to deliver the same seamless and fast charging experience in every country where we operate… With a single app and unified platform, EV drivers can now travel across borders with ease”.

Now, the partnership with AMPECO comes amid a backdrop of continued expansion for Eleport in both the Baltic countries and Central Europe. Croatia, the first country to receive the app, is set to become the home of Eleport’s ‘largest charging hub to date’ with fast charging capacity for up to 12 EVs in the city of Zadar.

Along with Slovenia, Croatia is one of the countries involved in Eleport’s recently announced partnership with Supernova Group, which will see Eleport install up to 200 ‘ultra-fast’ charging points at 30 retail locations across the two countries. The first installations are set to enter operation in June and July 2025 at six sites including Supernova Jastrebarsko, Supernova Garden Mall, Supernova Zadar, Supernova Šibenik, Branimir Mingle Mall in Croatia, and Supernova Ljubljana Rudnik in Slovenia.

Eleport states that it will eventually expand to all 30 Supernova sites across both Croatia and Slovenia, with 98 per cent of new charging points being 400kW DC units. This follows a 2024 takeover of Austrian charging company TurboVolt, which bolstered Eleport’s expansion into these countries.

Eleport itself is from Estonia, with its initial growth focused on the Baltics before expanding to the new markets that it operates in today.
